Donuts
- Mix golden flax and water in a bowl and allow to thicken (5-10 minutes).
- Combine : flour, baking powder, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Combine milk and butter, microwave 30sec at a time until 110 Faherenheit.
- Make well in center of dry ingredients. Pour in flax, milk, and butter.
- Knead with dough hook for 5-8 minutes on medium speed.
- Add flour 1 tablespoon at a time until dough easily pulls away from side of bowl.
- Allow to rise for 1-2 hours in a warm environment or 8-12 hours in fridge.
- Lightly knead dough to release air, then roll out to 1/2 inch thickness.
- Cut out donuts and place on wax paper
- Allow to rise for 30-40 minutes until slightly puffed.
- Heat oil to 350 Faherenheit in a dutch oven or similar.
- Add donuts 2 at a time. After 45-60 seconds, flip using a sloted spoon.
- Cook until deep golden on all sides.
- Remove and allow to drain on a towel lined plate
Glaze
- Whisk together: powdered sugar, milk, vanilla.
- Dip donuts into glaze, allow to drip.
Sprinkle after the glaze has had a chance to drip a little.
